Bukky Wright Reveals Why She Stepped Away From Acting to Focus on Her Children
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has revealed that her decision to step away from the Nigerian film industry and relocate abroad was largely influenced by her children.
The actress explained that there was a time when being present for her children became more important than pursuing her acting career. As a result, she decided to put her work on hold and devote more attention to her responsibilities as a mother.
Wright disclosed that her children were living abroad at the time, and she felt the need to be physically present for them as they went through an important phase of their lives.
“I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to,” she said.
The actress also apologised to her fans for stepping away from Nollywood without fully explaining the reason behind her decision.
According to Wright, leaving the industry was not an easy choice, especially given the successful career she had built over the years. However, she maintained that motherhood came first and she was willing to put her career on hold to support her children.
Her revelation offers insight into a personal chapter of her life that many of her fans may not have fully understood when she initially left the Nigerian entertainment scene.
