Datti Baba-Ahmed Speaks on Tinubu’s Political Influence Ahead of 2027
Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has commented on President Bola Tinubu’s growing political influence ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Baba-Ahmed made the remarks during an interview with Trust TV, where he acknowledged the political structure and alliances Tinubu has built over the years.
Although the former Labour Party chieftain said he does not agree with all of Tinubu’s policies, he recognised the president’s long political journey and his efforts to establish a strong political base.
According to Baba-Ahmed, Tinubu’s success in building a formidable political network is something many other politicians have struggled to achieve.
Reflecting on the president’s political career, he noted that Tinubu spent years organising and strengthening his political structure rather than merely making plans.
“Even though I don’t entirely agree with him, he did what others were not able to do. He organised for 16 years, not just plan,” Baba-Ahmed said.
His comments have drawn attention to Tinubu’s political influence as parties and politicians begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general election.
